# ChatGPT Apps

ChatGPT connects to Nichefire MCP as a custom connector, authenticated with OAuth.

As of today, we are working towards publishing a Nichefire Application inside the ChatGPT Marketplace, so these setup instructions are temporary until the publishing becomes effective.

### Setup

#### Individual Account Setup

1. Enable **Developer mode** in ChatGPT settings.
2. Enter in the Plugins page of ChatGPT.
3. Create a new Plugin by clicking into the "+" icon.
4. A modal will appear; fill in the values, with special emphasis on:
   1. The Plugin Name: Nichefire MCP.
   2. The Plugin Description.
   3. The MCP URL.
5. After the setup is done, you will be prompted with a modal requesting to Sign In, which will redirect you to login into Nichefire and approve the connection.
6. After the connection is approved, enter into ChatGPT's "[Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins)" section and search for "Nichefire MCP", click on it and then click "Try in Chat".
7. You should be redirected to the main ChatGPT chat window and you should be ready to start asking questions such as "What are the main coffee trends as of 2026"?

#### ChatGPT Workspace Setup

1. Enter into the [Apps](https://chatgpt.com/admin/apps) page of ChatGPT
2. Create a new App by clicking the "+ Create" button.
3. A modal will appear; fill in the values, with special emphasis on:
   1. The Plugin Name: Nichefire MCP.
   2. The Plugin Description.
   3. The MCP URL.
4. After the setup is done, you will be redirected to the "[Apps - Draft](https://chatgpt.com/admin/apps?tab=drafts)" page. Your new application should be listed there, however, this might take some seconds, so you might consider refreshing in order to see your newly created application.
5. Once your new application appears in the "Drafts" page, click on "Publish" ( This will only publish it inside your workspace ), and read and accept all required permissions.
6. After all permissions are accepted, click "Publish".
7. After the connection is approved, enter into ChatGPT's "[Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins)" section and search for "Nichefire MCP", click onthe three dots and choose the "Manage" option.
8. In the "Manage" modal, click "Connect" at the top right.
9. A modal will appear asking you to continue to Nichefire. After clicking on it, you will be redirected to login into Nichefire and approve the connection.
10. After the connection is approved, enter into ChatGPT's "[Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins)" section and search for "Nichefire MCP", click on it and then click "Try in Chat".
11. You should be redirected to the main ChatGPT chat window and you should be ready to start asking questions such as "What are the main coffee trends as of 2026"?

### Research mode behavior

Inside ChatGPT, searches usually run **instant** mode so replies stay responsive in the conversation. The **thinking** (in-depth) mode is intended for integrations that can wait for an extended analysis, and is not used automatically inside ChatGPT.
